The faculty area – also known as the staff room or faculty lounge – is one of the most important spaces for educators. The faculty area is the place where staff can  consult with colleagues,  discuss educational issues  that maximise the learning of all students.

This is also the area for Faculty to grow and develop in their roles and express how best to realise this important feature at EBU.

Examiners/Assessors  are appointed to set the papers for the examinations, oversee the exam and also share responsibility for results with the course Instructor. Examiners mark papers, projects, summative assessments  and other assessed work for individual students.

The role of an external examiner is to:

  1. Defend EBU standards by establishing whether or not a particular course is delivering academic standards broadly in line with those of other HE institutions.
  2. Ensure student assignments are being marked impartially, fairly and accurately
  3. Support the course instructor by giving input in the creation of the Midterm and Final Term Assessments
  4. Support the course instructor in reviewing results before returned them to students
